Large and grand format digital printing is the digital printing of banners, vinyl, material and many other possible substrates from the width of 600 mm to 11 meters. Typical applications for large format printing are; vehicle wraps, billboards, carpets, wallpapers, murals, floor graphics etc. Exhibition/product displays and retail point of sale products also utitilise large format and occasionally grand format printing technologies.

There are a number of substrates used in large format printing, from adhesive backed vinyl, water colour paper to glossy photo stock, and many fabrics. Clear film is also becoming an increasingly popular substrate for window graphics.

The speed and turnaround of large format printing is impessive now days. The process is a 6 colour process printing upto at resolutions upto 1440 dpi. The higher the quality the longer the printing will take. That being stated, the real time delays in this area of the prining industry often involves the product finishing and not the actual printing.
